In the spring of 2013 I hosted what would later become known as a CAKE&WHISKEY hobnob. I had been dabbling in entrepreneurial endeavors for a few years and craved the time I made for coffee dates and after-work drinks with women I respected in business. I tried a few networking groups but with little excitement or initiative to go back. But I desperately wanted to bottle that energy that we get from one another when we talk about goals and dreams and plans.
So I created an event. A small, intimate gathering of women from all industries and career journeys to come together to ‘eat cake, drink whiskey, talk shop.’ A few weeks later I hosted a second ‘hobnob.’ And that’s how CAKE&WHISKEY came to be.
There are now CAKE&WHISKEY hobnobs in 10 cities from New York to San Diego, Greenville to Chicago. Each remains true to its origins. There’s cake. There’s whiskey. There’s shop talk. And most importantly, there’s thoughtful connections.
