The Homestead Bakery
On the land of a grass fed beef cattle farm, my husband and I opened The Homestead in a converted 1900’s post office. The menu was simple: biscuits with cured country ham, scones, quiche, muffins and cookies. On Saturdays, the Homestead opened the doors exclusively for hot-out-of-the-oven cinnamon rolls. Doors closed when they sold out….which didn’t take too long.
The Homestead scratched that itch that both the hubby and I had to bake goodies, meet customers and serve great coffee. We opened The Homestead on $2000. Success came quickly and within 5 months, we were able to sell the business and the recipes feeling happy to have had the experience and excited for the next adventure.
